What this domain covers
Healthcare is moving from episodic treatment toward a world shaped by prediction, prevention, personalization and accelerated science. Biotechnology, genomics, connected devices, AI-assisted discovery and regenerative medicine are changing what can be measured, understood and treated.
What belongs here
- Predictive and preventative healthcare
- Personalized and precision medicine
- Genomics and gene editing
- Drug discovery and clinical acceleration
- Connected and virtual healthcare
- Longevity and regenerative medicine
- Brain and cognitive health
Why it matters
The biggest shifts in health often emerge from several technologies advancing at once. Faster science, richer biological data and better computational tools can compress the time between discovery, diagnosis and intervention.
The future of human health is not waiting to be discovered - it is waiting to be built!

In Jim’s words
From “Decoding Tomorrow: Your Daily Future Inspiration – Bold Moves: “The future of human health is not waiting to be discovered - it is waiting to be built!”” (August 2025)
Longevity Science (#11) focuses on healthspan, not just lifespan – companies need professionals who understand how health behaviors compound across populations. As I wrote in Megatrend #10, the medicine of tomorrow isn’t about the miracle cure; i t’s about the predictive insight that makes the cure unnecessary. These companies desperately need people who understand health from a systems perspective, not just a technology perspective .
From “Decoding Tomorrow: Healthcare trends : “In healthcare’s future, impossible is merely an undiscovered solution”” (May 2025)
While the sector remains very much under attack in the US, there is no doubt that elsewhere in the world we will see fascinating developments in the next many years. Indeed, we stand at a precipice of transformation so profound that it redefines what’s possible for human health and longevity. A lot fo this has to do with the accelerating pace of discovery of new healthcare and medical science, the role of technology, and the impact of AI. Dr. Eric Topol heralds that ” we are at the beginning of a golden age of medicine, where what was once purely in the realm of science fiction is becoming science fact ”. Indeed, the advancements barreling down the pike are set to revolutionize not just how we treat illness, but how we conceive of health itself.
