The opportunity
Boost productivity through automation, protect human workers from hazardous or strenuous tasks, and create platforms for AI to further optimize and control industrial processes.

Likewise, artificial intelligence can be used in collaborative robotics, (robots can work alongside employees to improve efficiency and productivity on the production line); and in predictive maintenance, (it can be used to monitor equipment and predict when maintenance will be needed, which can reduce downtime and associated costs).
Ikusi Mexico’s Director of Strategy and Product Development, Aurelio Sanchez, assured that artificial intelligence is a central element of the Industry 4.0 revolution, whose algorithms can be used to optimize manufacturing supply chains and thus help companies anticipate changes in the market. ” Artificial intelligence is already positively impacting the machine learning part. Let’s remember that all production lines move through data or variables. All this data is converted into models that allow optimizing production lines and generating greater efficiency,” he said, adding that in this way, artificial intelligence is linked to efficiency and, therefore, allows generating a much more favorable environment for companies, and although this industrial revolution is still in its early stages, it is already generating significant benefits in processes ranging from the design process and the production floor, to the supply chain and administration.
Padilla added that in addition to the fact that artificial intelligence can positively impact logistics planning, quality control, robotics and automation, inventory management, with its use, production plants will be able to increase productivity, using large volumes of information in a contextualized way, identifying the root of problems and also predicting their future behavior to be able to react in time to possible unforeseen events.

AI-Powered Automation & Robotics : Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the factory floor. This includes machine vision for quality control, predictive maintenance to reduce downtime, and collaborative robots (cobots) that work alongside humans to boost efficiency and safety.
Empower Small, Agile Teams: Use your small size as an advantage. Create cross-functional teams with the resources and psychological safety to experiment in a “fail fast” environment where setbacks are viewed as valuable learning opportunities.
Rohleder (Germany) : A medium-sized, family-owned textile manufacturer, Rohleder’s high-mix, low-volume production model made adopting standard automation difficult. They took a measured, strategic approach, partnering with local universities to analyze machine data and improve weaving efficiency. They also selectively integrated AI tools like ChatGPT in their sales department to improve customer communication. The outcome: The university collaboration led to a 20% increase in weaving productivity and a reduction in machine stoppages, enhancing efficiency without sacrificing the flexibility that is their core competitive advantage.

The National Safety Council conference is the largest gathering of occupational health and safety professionals in the world. More than 15,000 of them showed up when I spoke to them, and I opened by telling them the old safety playbook was already out of date.
New hazard types were emerging faster than legacy safety assumptions could keep up. That was the challenge behind the keynote, “The Future of Safety and Risk,” which walked through what’s actually changing on the floor and in the field: industrial IoT, collaborative robotics, virtualized work, advanced materials, and predictive safety.
Collaborative Robotics. Cobots and automation create new productivity opportunities and new safety requirements.
